The Road to Hana

On our last day in Maui, we tackled the road to Hana. What a beautiful drive! To quote Aerosmith..."it's the journey, not the destination"...is the perfect description of our experience! Photo-ops around every corner!

Have to give props to Bruddah Hutt's BBQ Grill in Hana. This place is awesome! Definitely one of the best meals we had on the trip! Nothing fancy, just straight up good food. Like a lot of others on the highway, they ran the business on the porch right in front of their home.

Tricia & Jimmy's Wedding and the Bali Hale House

Tricia and Jimmy's wedding was at the gorgeous Bali Hale house in Makila Plantation. The place was just spectacular and the perfect location for an intimate wedding. There were so many details in the house that you can spend hours just shooting around the house!

As for the wedding (and from what I can remember), everyone had a great time! The ceremony was beautiful with the panoramic ocean view backdrop, the food was delicious, and almost everyone at the wedding was on the dance floor at one time! Na and I were very honored to be part of Tricia and Jimmy's special day. Congratulations you two!

The Town of Lahaina

What a cool little town with so much history, culture and character! I had a few hours to roam around on the morning of T&J's wedding and since I didn't want to go too far, I decided to walk around for a bit and snap a few shots.

Sunrise at Haleakala!...well, sort of...okay, not really.

Since this was our first time in Maui, I was told by several people that seeing the sunrise at Haleakala and then biking down the volcano is a MUST. After doing some research online, others have suggested that this activity be experienced the first morning in Maui since most people are still on mainland time. So after 3 hours of sleep the first night, Na and I were up...BARELY, but up. Unfortunately for us...it was raining when we got up there and the area was completely covered in fog. Needless to say, we did not experience the sunrise that we had hoped for. Oh well, it was out of our hands...but we still had a great time!

Our fogging morning at the summit of Haleakala!

At the beginning of our 26 mile biking trek!...downhill of course!

I took this picture on self-timer with the camera strapped around my body using a bungee cord! No, it's not my MacGyver innovation, but I actually Googled it! Love the perspective...

Na jokingly expressing her feelings regarding the message on the sticker...(it reads "stop bike tour vans").

Little Kai at 7 Weeks!

These pictures of Kai and the Yabumotos are a couple of weeks old...so Kai is actually 9 weeks old now. He is happy, healthy and well on his way to becoming the next NBA great! (At least that's what I think Keith wants him to be...)
